How do I use my Bupa insurance to pay for physiotherapy?

We get asked on very regular occasions as to how to use medical insurance to pay for treatments.

We deal directly with many of the main insurance companies, including Bupa – AXA PPP, Aviva, Cigna, WPA.  Dealing directly with the insurance companies means that there is one less thing for you to have to worry about … you can concentrate on getting back to your best self.

Prior to booking your initial appointment you will need to ensure that you have spoken with your insurance company to confirm they will cover the treatment you require and to get a pre authorisation number.  This is vital, as it will mean we can invoice the insurance company direct.  If you do not have this prior to your appointment, you will be liable for the fees, as the insurance companies will not backdate your authorisation.

Once you have attended your session we will send the invoice to Bupa, or whichever insurance company you are with, for them to pay directly to us.

However, like pretty much all insurances, there will be an excess that is your responsibility to pay.  The excess on most insurances is £100, this means that you will need to pay the first £100 for every authorised treatment that you have.  This is the same whether you are being treated at The Physiotherapy Centre, or Spire Hospital, or any other physiotherapy clinic.

When the insurance company have let us know that you owe us money, we will send you an invoice for you to pay at your earliest convenience.

Unfortunately all insurance companies work in different ways, and many have different types of policies … just make it even more complicated.  We will happily work with you to ensure your treatments with us are as easy to manage as possible.

If you ever have any questions please do not hesitate to contact one of the team at the centre to see how we can help.
