The Physiotherapy Centre is a Specialist Extracorporeal ShockWave Therapy (ESWT) Centre offering shockwave treatment for Musculoskeletal and Urological conditions.
We have Radial & Focussed Shockwave machines – very few companies offer Focussed (which is ideal for deeper tissue conditions, and if often more successful than Radia. – CLICK TO SEE THE VIDEO BELOW).
The technology we use is from the Market Leading Swiss company STORZ MEDICAL. All our ESWT machines are manufactured in Switzerland to stringent European and British standards. Many other clinics use lesser Chinese manufactured ESWT machines.

Radial Shockwave & Focused Shockwave
What is the difference?
Focused shockwaves are sound waves that are gathered (or focused) into deeper regions of the body, approximately 12cm. It is at this point that they reach their maximum energy. Focused shockwaves are used in the treatment of deep trigger points or areas, whereas radial shockwaves transmit outwards and do not reach as deep into the target area.
Radial shockwaves are performed on greater surface areas of application or larger regions of the body. Your therapist carrying out the procedure will decide which method is best for you, depending on your condition. Sometimes it is advisable to use a combination of both for maximum effect.
Here is a video with outlines these differences in more detail.
