Injections are done as part of your treatment plan and are seldom a single intervention. They can help to reduce pain and improve movement to allow you to do your rehabilitation and optimise your function.

What injections are available?

At the Physiotherapy Centre we provide 2 types of injections.

    Hyaluronic Acid injections (Durolane, Ostenil)

Injections can be administered either ‘blinded’ or ‘guided’. This means that we can either inject with or without the use of real-time imaging.

Some joint injections like for instance in the knee, being a large joint, do not necessitate the use of imaging and can be done successfully by a blinded approach.

Other conditions especially soft tissue injections such as shoulder injections or carpal tunnel injections are far more successful and safer when done with the use of an ultrasound scan.
